Andrea Caniglia
VMD, DAVCAA
Dr. Caniglia completed a three-year residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the CARES team in 2011, and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2012.
Anesthesia is a small specialty, and has historically been limited to veterinary teaching hospitals. She became an anesthesiologist with the goal of providing this same high standard of care to patients receiving anesthesia in a private hospital. Developing the anesthesia specialty at the Center for Animal Referral and Emergency Services has been a very rewarding experience. During her time at CARES, Dr Caniglia has become a resource to local general practitioners eager for continuing education, and assistance with developing anesthesia programs in their hospitals. What Dr. Caniglia enjoys the most is providing a pain free and safe anesthetic experience for all types of patients and procedures.
